When cruising the Internet, I came across these cute little alligator purses. (Of course now I can't find the original artist!)
I just had to have one! So I made my own pattern for them and I'm going to share!
Here's what you need: Big Shot, Stampin' Up! Top Note die, Heat tool, Cardstock, Crop-a-dile, ribbon, Powder Pal, Bone folder, Clear emboss powder, Versa Mark ink, Sticky Strip, cutter/ score blade, and scissors.
Cut out 3 of the top note ( I used Real Red cardstock).
Cut 2 pieces of cardstock measuring 1- 3/4" x 3".
Cut off the right side of 2 of the top notes (at the top of the curve)
Score the left sides at 1/2" from the curve.
Score the 1-3/4" x 3" pieces at 1/2" on three sides (leaving the top unscored)
Cut out the squares on the bottom. Make a vertical score from the top middle, down about 3/4". (click on pictures to see)
Apply sticky strip to the sides. Cut a piece of ribbon measuring 13".
punch a hole in the middle/top of one of the sides. Feed ribbon trough and tie a knot.
Now for the Faux Alligator technique!
Apply Versa mark ink pad directly to the paper.
Pour Clear Emboss powder over. Draw vertical lines removing the powder with a bone folder.
Melt the emboss powder with the Heat Tool.
Repeat for all three top not pieces.
Start to assemble. Apply sticky strip to one the bottoms of the scored top notes. Remove sticky strip from the side pieces and attach to the bottom of the top notes.
Attach sides of top notes to side pieces.
Apply sticky strip to one side (inside) the last top note. Attach to the back of the purse.
Attach velcro piece to the front of the purse.
Finished!
Think of the possibilities! Add brads, eyelets, grommets, rhinestones.......
Have fun recreating and send me a picture!
